Cooking Gluten Free for the family

My daughter was soon to be married and wanted to loose some weight and feel less bloated. It was suggested that she cut out gluten from her diet and so I started buying non gluten products.

She soon was feeling more awake, less sluggish and bloated and lost weight in all the right places.

Soon the whole family had cut back and we are still being careful with what we eat. We wanted to change our whole outlook on gluten free eating and discovered this Cookbook which has gluten-free, low-glycemic, allergy-aware with meat, vegetarian and vegan options throughout. There isn't another product like it on or offline!

It's unique. I found it really helpful and it had an amazing variety of recipes.

There's nothing wrong with gluten
by: Ian

Hello,

I'm sure that a pro-active positive change in diet has helped all of you. However, it should be noted that gluten is just a protein. There's nothing inherently wrong with it.

If however you have a condition which prevents the proper breakdown of gluten in your body, then sure, a gluten free diet is the only recourse.

Being a coeliac myself - I just can't eat gluten. I have a medical condition that prevents me from going there.

I cannot figure out however, why perfectly healthy human beings that can process gluten choose to eliminate it thinking that it's "healthier". Any improvement in health after eliminating gluten would be for two reasons:

(1) You have a condition where you cannot process gluten - so your small bowel repairs and you start absorbing nutrients to better effect, OR
(2) As a result of eliminating gluten, you improved your diet in other areas anyway

if you can eat gluten, eat it. Don't just assume that healthy = gluten free.
