I can’t get enough of watermelon this month. The weather here has been a little hotter and more humid then I would like so when it gets to night time all I crave is watermelon. Just this smell brings to mind the Victoria Markets in Melbourne, seeing the ripest, juiciest most succulent water melons, and stopping in for my weekly sample.
Why I like watermelon
- 50 Calories for a cup of diced watermelon
- Really hydrating after a work out.
- Great portable snack just throw a cup full into a Tupperware and you are off.
- Great at morning or afternoon tea for a quick sugar hit!
How I serve my watermelon.
I know it is probably common sense, but I never thought about prepping my watermelon for a week. My sister put me onto the idea of chopping up a watermelon at the start of a week and popping it into a container, so its ready to eat, or take on the go.
I have oral allergy syndrome which basically means most citrus and stone fruits are a no no – so I love the idea of having a portable fruit and keeping my vitamin and mineral levels up.
