gluten making you ill

Hi Guys,

I’ve just read the very compelling book by Shari Lieberman.

My hubby has some ongoing chronic health conditions, physical and mental, that we’re not able to get a diagnosis on… so we’re going to try going gluten free… we don’t think we have coeliac disease, but haven’t been tested

He doesn’t have Gastro-intestinal symptoms really… maybe a bit of heartburn and reflux from some meds he’s on…

I am generally just exhausted most of the time, but functioning pretty well apart from that…so I’m happy to give it a go as well… and after reading the book, I’m also perfectly prepared to put our almost 4 year old son on a gluten free diet too.

The book suggests that if you have lots of gastrointestinal inflammation, you should also give up Casein… but we don’t really have those particular symptoms… so not sure whether we should go to that extent?

We’ve just started and I’m wondering whether you think we have to go Casein free as well straight up? or will just going gluten free be enough to make us feel a bit better by itself? or should we go to the extra extent for a couple of weeks cutting out dairy… and then reintroduce it when we’re feeling better?

What did you do when you stopped eating gluten? What did you give up first and reintroduce later? and what results?

thanks in advance.
