- I find one of the main reasons I snack on junk food or accidentally eat gluten is lack of preparation.
- Thinking about meals times and snacks you can eat at home or on the go is a huge part of controlling your allergies, weight and life style.
- Here is my delicious tasty snack idea that is so good you will wonder why you have not been doing it for years.
- Buy a snack box to keep in the fridge (1-2 litres size) At the start of every week fill it with vegetables and chop them into snack sized portions.
My favorites include
- Broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, celery, capsicum, mushrooms, brocollini, green beans, snow peas.
- You can either enjoy these raw and fresh on their own or with a little pesto or hummace (i enjoy hummace as it contains chickpeas and sesame seeds which are rich in protein)
- Or you can steam them (it only takes 3 minutes - this is my preferred method of cooking as I have oral allergy syndrome and find raw fruit and vege gives me a rash round my mouth and on my hands when i peel them.
